Today was a day of resting for Palmer. It seemed that all the chemo drugs hit her system today. Most of the day she has been sick and felt sick, Scott called her doctor to get some meds to help with the nausea.  Tonight she seems to be feeling alittle better, always on the edge of being sick.  I went to the video store and rented her a few movies so she can just camp out and relax for the next several days. Tonight she watched "Seven Brides for Seven Brothers"(the old one) she liked it. We are all glad to be home and under one roof. Hayden swam  in the Arkansas State meet in Bentonville today and will tommorrow to finish out the long course swimming season. She did great! We are proud of her. Thank you for keeping up with us on this journey. We are tired and weary on days, but trust in the one who gives us the strength and grace for each day to do what we need to for Palmer.

2:30pm Palmer started the morning at 6:30am with a round of chemo then rested until it was time to get a shot in her leg(a different kind of chemo drug).  She did great with the round and shot(tommorrow she will feel the effects in her leg muscle). After getting her CBC back we decided to give her 2 units of blood before we left ACH today. This takes 4hours(2hrs per unit)right now we are on her 2nd unit waiting for the transfusion to complete. I will up date later on the rest of the day.

9:30pm Palmer and I are home after a long day, we were glad to see everyone. Palmer didn't feel good on the way home, may have been the car ride combined with the chemo drugs,we made it  and she went straight to bed. We are planning on getting up 2 times tonight to give meds. Pray that she will have a restful night. Thank you for all your prayers. We are blessed!!

8:30 Palmer is already asleep for the night. She recieved her chemo. at 6:30pm and was ready to go to sleep by 8:00pm. We had a good day, Palmer recieved her chemo. early this morning and then rested until lunch time. We went out on a pass for a few hours, had lunch and ran a few errands. A friend here in Little Rock brought us dinner, thank you Karen! Pray for Palmer not to have any fever and to not get sick tonight on her chemo.  We are praying for a restful evening and peace as she goes though her last few treatments this round. Thank you to everyone for your emails and encouraging words, what a blessing in this enviroment. We appreciate each one who has served our family, Thank You.

7:00am We are headed to ACH. We trust the Lord whatever his plans are this morning. Will let you know as this day progresses. In His promises we are certain !  Isaiah 49:16  See, I have engraved you on the palm(er)s of my hands; your walls are ever before me.

9:45am Palmers counts are up significantly and over 1000. Praise God! Her doctor (Kimo Stine) however still want's to do the bone marrow aspirate and biopsy to get confirmation that all is still clear. Please pray now for Palmer she is anxious not wanting any unexpected news from her marrow, and for Taylor right now he is headed from 3Gold to PICU for more intense care even as I write.

2:00pm Praise God! Everything is clear and Palmer is a go for chemo tonight. We are actually going to grab some lunch and will update later. Thank you all for praying. We are humbled, thankful and overjoyed!

10:00pm Palmer started her chemo about 6:30. She is in a shared room because all of 3Gold is full. Lori Ann stayed with Palmer and I travelled home caught a ride with friends to Fort Smith. I had planned to stay with Lori Ann and Palmer but there is barely room for one parent to sleep. Unfortunately 3 Gold is full more often it seems. ACH needs a new floor for oncology. If anyone reading this would like to fund a new wing, would love to pitch it to you. 3Gold and all of ACH are very special. I was told a story by a brother in Christ who recently made a trip here to Childrens Hospital. He had intended to come one evening but did not get here. Rather came the next day it was very hot and he had to park in the outback and was frustrated for not coming the evening before. He got on the elevator sweating and looked down at a little boy with a bald head who asked him had he been outside to which he replied he had and how hot it was. The little boy said " I wish I could go outside" this brother said it was all he could do to keep from tears before the elevator doors opened to let him off. That is the kind of thing that happens any moment to keep your perspective clear in this place.  Please pray for Palmer and Lori Ann, and Taylor, Chase, Trey, Ty and Dakota and all the special children on 3Gold. Palmer' counts have trended down since the end of last week. She was on track on Friday, and we where frankly shocked when she was down when we did bloodwork at ACH planning to get her treatment started. Her ANC was 727 this morning. We are asking the Lord to bring them up to 1000 by in the morning. We have to be back in Little Rock by 7:30 am for bloodwork. If counts are not at 1000 she will have to have a bone marrow aspirate and biopsy. Her doctor wants to see specifically why her counts have been so slow to move up and then have dropped. The bone marrow procedures where not part of her treatment protocol at this time, so we would specifically request that you would please ask the Lord to make her counts strong so Palmer will not have to have the marrow procedures and can go straight to her treatment. We are very weary at this juncture. Thank you for holding up our arms as you have. Our God is Awesome, that, we do not question! We know His timing is perfect. Tired but Trusting - The Richardson 6


1:10 We are in Little Rock at Childrens Hospital waiting for Palmer's bloodwork and planning to start chemotherapy tonight. I will post later today and let you know what is going on.

3:45 We are headed back home Palmer's counts are down and not high enough to start. We will be back Wednesday. Pray that her counts are up, or we we will have to do another bone marrow aspirate on Wednesday. If counts are above 1000 no marrow and right on to treatment. Thank you all.



Palmer's counts (ANC) where 991 yesterday. We haven't seen these numbers since early June, Palmer will begin her last treatment regimen on Monday evening. There is no way to know for sure but probably within days her counts will again start to fall and she will head into another period of neutropenia, need for blood and platelet transfusions and will be at high risk of infection. We are trusting the Lord along with all of you this will be the last time she will ever have to experience this process. She is ready to get going and get this treatment complete. Palmer is looking forward to dancing in the fall and getting caught up in school. We are going to enjoy time together with a new appreciation. Lori Ann and Palmer are headed up to pick up Hayden at New Life Ranch. Baker & Sutton and I are headed to baseball tryouts for fall league baseball. Thank you all for your prayers and support. Quick update Palmer's counts are moving strongly upward. Her ANC today was over 800. She should start chemo Monday or Wednesday next week. It will have been 8 weeks since her last round (anticipated 4 or 5) while we waited for her marrow to rebound. She is having fun each day and it is a Joy to spend so much time together without in-hospital stay. Since February this has been the longest period at home. Thank you Lord, your timing is always perfect. Thank you each for lifting up and honoring and encouraging Palmer and our entire Family. Our God is Awesome-Praise Him.


Palmers counts are moving up. She is still not ready for treatment and may not be until next week. Her ANC today was over 600, yesterday was 415 for ANC information   www.curesearch.org/patients/intreatment/article.aspx?ArticleId=24&StageId=14&TopicId=92&Level=2 . Her platelet count would ideally be 75, it is 24 right now. Platelet production is one of the last things to come up. Palmer used her 500+ count as an excuse to hang out with her friends, lots of fun going on! We have been waiting on Palmer's counts for weeks, and waiting has never been one of my strengths. Thank you Lord for leading us each step of the way. Palmer has had a good day, she feels good overall. Her platelets are coming up on her own, yeah God! Her counts are still not up yet. Her ANC was 415 today we where hopiing for more, she needs to be at or near 1000 to begin chemotherapy again. We will see tomorrow how she is trending. Thank you all! We Love Palmer!


Palmer has had a good weekend. We where all going to a swim meet in Bentonville. Hayden was swimming in the morning, Baker in the afternoon. Hayden and I drove up early Saturday morning only to find that they had to cancel the whole meet for the day because of vandalism to the pool. We came home and hung out, later some of us went to see Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Sunday we all went to worship together and attended a baseball banquet. We then drove up to New Life Ranch where Hayden is going to be at camp for the week. This camp has been a great blessing to our family as Hayden and Palmer both have been to camp in the summers and we are regulars at the father/daughter retreats. OK Palmer is making her own platelets (we think) they where up today. Thank you Lord! Palmer normally has her blood drawn in the doctors office near our house. Today however her Mom did it for her and took her blood in for the lab. Lori Ann cares for Palmer everyday by flushing her central line and then closing it off with an antibiotic/heparin combination (protects against infection in the lines). Palmer gets all her blood work, blood transfusion, platelet transfusion, medications, antibiotics, and chemotherapy through this line. Got another lab this morning counts are still moving but ever so slowly. Platelets where yet lower but we are holding out until tomorrow to see if Palmer heads up on her own. Palmer feels good and enjoys all the activities of home. Palmer of all our children always has been a home-body. That's just how the Lord made her and perhaps for such a time as this. Thank you all for honoring us so graciously with prayers. Our God is Awesome!

P.S. Both Baker & Sutton's baseball teams (Community Bible church) won the regular season and post season tournament championship for Fort Smith Church League baseball. Way to go boys we are proud of you!!!



Started the morning with bloodwork, quick test showed platelets at 11, yesterday where 15 - wrong direction. Doctors ordered platelets Palmer and I headed to St. Edwards got in a room waiting for platelets, nurse came in and told us they did not have any platelets, none in town. We where thankful it was not an emergency. Said to call late this afternoon and come back in. Meanwhile got official lab around 11:00 and her platelet count was 15 so we will wait until tomorrow to see if platelets begin to head up. Thank you Lord! Palmer feels good and has had so much time at home I think she may be ready to go back to the hospital ;-)

Our end goal has been our annual vacation together the 2nd week of August in Destin, Florida with friends.  That is something Palmer has been looking forward to and talked about since February. Today however we came to the realization that we are not going to make it, since she was not able to keep her treatment schedule. Everyone is very disappointed to say the least. We trust that God has a perfect plan and that his timing is perfect as well, so we will continue to hope in him. (I am hearing that song " The Lord is my refuge says my soul, therefore I will hope in Him"). Blessings to you all - Love on your families - today is special!




Palmer is feeling better today, more energy since she got blood yesterday. She and her mom spent about 9 hours getting her blood transfusion. They where both tired when they got home last night. We did blood work again today, Palmer's counts are coming up very slowly. Her platelets where even lower this morning, if they don't head up by tomorrow she will have to get platelets, back to St. Edwards etc. Palmer is not going to make treatment tomorrow her counts are about 350 and they have to be at or near 1000. Please pray that her platelets increase overnight and that her white blood cell counts start to really jump up. She is 6 weeks since her last treatment and her protocol recommends 28 day intervals, this is the slowest she has rebounded. Thank you all for praying!

Hey guys Palmer is doing good, still at home. We had a CBC this morning and her hemoglobin and platelets where low. Her doctors at ACH ordered blood transfusion for Palmer and wanted to wait and see if her marrow would begin to produce her own platelets very soon. She and Lori Ann spent the afternoon and evening at St. Edwards. Her oncology doctors don't like to give too many platelets because she can develop platelet resistance and can have too many different antibody exposures, I don't understand it all. So if she is not actively bleeding through her skin and she is not, they want to hold off on a platelet transfusion. Thank you all for praying. Our God is Awesome!

Hello to everyone checking in on Palmer. We took an impromptu trip yesterday to Tulsa and spent the night. We had so much fun, we stayed in a hotel and the boys swam and we went to the IMax theatre and we ate out. And sorry all our friends and intercessors in Bentonville and NW Arkansas we went to ---- Target.(sorry Annette) If you guys ever want a consult on how to compete with them - call me ;-). Palmer is coming up in her counts she is not at the magic 1000 number she needs to begin next round of chemo. Please pray specifically with us that she will be there by Wednesday and that her next round of chemo will be go smoothly and that she will rebound quickly and no infection, no fever and no leukemia. Thank you Lord Jesus, God the Father, and Holy Spirit! Our God is Awesome and we praise Him and put our hope in Him. He has a Palmer Plan and we entrust her life to Him!


Hi all, not a lot new to tell you. Palmer did not make her treatment yesterday. Counts are coming up albeit very slowly. We will have a little more of a trend line after we get CBC tomorrow. Had hoped we could start before the 13th but we will have to wait and see. We enjoy being together and the more "normal" time we have the better. Thank you all for honoring us with your prayers, generosity, and acts of kindness. It is a great source of encouragement to be so loved on by our brothers and sisters in the body of Christ.

We very much enjoyed 4th of July celebrations. Palmer got to see some friends and hang out and watch fireworks at a neighbors party. We have gotten lab work this morning her counts are moving up but not enough to start treatment tomorrow. Also we are headed over to St. Edwards outpatient for a platelet transfusion, her platelet count was 5. Thanks for Praying! Our God is Awesome!


Happy IndependenceeDay. Great to celebrate this holiday together at home. We don't have a lot of plans today. We may go to the movies and attend an outdoor celebration tonight. Have a great time with your families. I came across this quote that had been hand written by Lori Ann's grandmother - Margaret Meador and I thought it timely to our lives and understanding of this journey.

How many times are we like our children were when they were little and said, “Don’t hold my hand, I can walk by myself.”  

Is this what we say to our Father, “Don’t hold my hand, I can walk by myself.”  Oh, if we would only learn to put our complete trust in Him and turn our lives over to Him and say, “Hold my hand, Father, and lead me all the way.”  He promises us He has a plan for us; He made us in His image; He sent His only son to die for us (our Redeemer) to save us and He is at work in us and He’s with us always.  Little by little, day by day, we must be growing to be more like Him.  He is still working on me — and I still make lots of mistakes and have many weaknesses.  

Ask and it shall be given unto you. Seek and ye shall find.

We had a good day together. Some of us where together at worship, Palmer did not get to be there just because everyone would want to hug on her and she is not quite able to do that just yet. Palmer, Hayden, and Lori Ann did sneak out and do some shopping. Palmer wears a mask, whenever she is out. The boys and I hit some tennis balls, rode the train at Creekmore and went to the fireworks stand together. We only got smoke bombs and sparklers in case the grandparents are reading this ;-). Later in the evening we chased down the ice cream truck. (Reminds me of when I was a kid) We really had hoped that Palmer would be on schedule to begin treatment again on the 6th, but as so many of you have reminded me " Gods timing is always perfect", we agree and will trust Him for her timing. Seems to have been an uneventful day. Palmer rested and hung out with her Mom. Hayden, Baker, Sutton and I went to the aquapark in Alma. It was a much needed outing on the part of the other kids. We did not get any blood work done today, we will again first of the week. Highlight of the day, Palmer went and sat in the neutropenic section ;-) of Breedlove Auditorium and watched her dance company perform. Upon her unexpected arrival she was greeted with applause and her company honored her with révérence as a company from the stage. It was such a blessing and bouyed her spirits so much - thank you all who encouraged her. I can not describe with words how this makes me feel as a Daddy. Strength & Honor to Palmer and all the other children and families that fight, trust, and hope in the face of cancer.
